Music & Photography: Blue, Yachts & Water

I am madly drawn to the sea, blue skies & ships. – It’s in my blood after all. Here are a few photographs I took recently at the Limassol Marina here in Cyprus.

I’m also adding a Music Playlist below which is mostly about Beaches, Boats, Sunshine & Surf… & of course this famous quote:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” — Mark Twain

  1. I’m freaky about marinas and boats. I have a little Bayliner Mosquito my dad gave to me that we fish with. I have a friend with a 40-foot sailboat I sometimes go sail with. My grandpa also had a 35 foot cabin cruiser we all used to ride over to Catalina Island as I was growing up. That’s part of why I enlisted in the Navy and stayed for 22 years. Now, I live on an island and have a beach a mere one half mile from my house. I have yet to listen to your playlist but I did peruse the list and the VERY LAST one is an old favorite I have and listen to frequently: Otis Redding’s “Sittin’ On The Dock of the Bay”….Love, love, LOVE that one! Other favorites: “Southern Cross”….by Crosby, Stills and Nash….”Painted Sails” by David Arkenstone……Most of Jimmy Buffets stuff (yes, I saw you had several of his there)….If ever you should find yourself over in my neck of the woods, we’ve got to meet up! Coffee?

    • haha I love it! Yes, Coffee for sure & we can talk about boats, sea, islands, music & travel 🙂 I’ve spent the first 2 decades of my life living on water pretty much, then moved over to Ohio for University & then Arizona after that, although Cali was gonna be next on my list had I stayed. Love being near water – It totally soothes my soul

      • I moved around A LOT, as a child. Dad was in the Air Force for the first three years of my life. Then, after that, for other reasons, we kept moving around. Then, I joined the Navy and traveled for the next twenty years! I’ve stayed put on this island since 1992! But, I’ll still get out and travel about! Beginning my exploration on Space-A travel via military MAC flights. There’s a trick to it and I’m searching for folks who are well seasoned in doing that. It’s a side benefit of serving.

      • Wow since 1992? That is awesome, you must be happy there! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Space A travel sounds awesome! Definitely a great benefit & well deserved! 🙂

      • Yes, it is a long time being in one place for me and, yes, I AM happy here. We have forests and beach! We’re surrounded by a Sound and I stare right into a straight that feeds the interesting weather right at me! We have our own unique agates to collect and polish….Salmon to catch…Dungeness Crab…Trails everywhere for hiking and even a simple brisk walk is beautiful. Hubby an I take an hour long very brisk walk every day it isn’t soaking us!
