Greetings from sunny Cyprus

Hello Sunshine Lovers šŸ™‚ Here’s a little update on what’s going on in my neck of the woods. Last weekend I visited #63 from the 100 Places to see in Europe before you DieĀ list and I’m posting a few photos bellow. This beautiful beach is located on the East side of the island and it’s my favourite beach here so far. There are still plenty of beaches to explore and I cannot wait to see them all. The most beautiful ones are located on the East and West sides of the island. Nissi Beach Usually there’s a sand path here connecting the beach to the island which you can cross, but today it was covered with water How beautiful is this water? šŸ™‚ View from the little island The island is covered in very interesting rocky terrain as well as some wild plants and flowers This is the Cliff diving spot which is pretty awesome. I didn’t jump as I had my camera with me, but on my next visit, I’m totally jumping from there …

TBEX Opening Party – An Affair to Remember

When we got the news that the TBEX Opening Party would be a Beach Party, we were all super excited. The party was to be held at the beautiful Santa Cristina Beach and we had 3 different transportation options as our arrival to the party: Scenic longer boat ride along the coastline Direct boat ride to the beach (15 min) Arrival by bus for those arriving later Of course I picked the earliest 6:30pm departure by boat that opted for a longer scenic coastal route to the party. Boat picking us up for the Opening Party Lloret de Mar Arriving at Santa Cristina Beach The Reception Layout The Stunning Location on Hotel Santa Marta grounds First we were serenaded by beautiful poolside live music Soon after the announcement was heard about the Tomato & Bread demonstration While the 2nd boat ride was making its way toward the beach… It was time for some Cheese & Wine onshore My happy plate filled with different local Cheeses. I also enjoyed some local white wine with this too …

Platja d’Aro – Costa Brava’s little peaceful beachside gem

Recently I had an opportunity to visit Costa Brava’s small beach town Platja d’Aro. The first thingĀ I noticed once I got off the bus and walked toward my hotel was, the peaceful feeling I got from my new surroundings. Unlike Party town Lloret de Mar, Platja d’Aro is pretty peaceful and a perfect beach town for a little Rest and Relaxation. May is a perfect month to visit, but I predict June would be just as lovely. Bellow are some photos of from this pretty little beach town. The main road above the beach has some awesome little shops and you can also find designer brands here too. Surprisingly it’s a great place for shopping. Platja d’Aro also has a port at the edge of the town and a nearby large campsite too. There are also some watersport activities for adventure lovers. My only tip would be to not go there alone. Platja d’Aro is meant to be enjoyed with a partner or a small group of people. Getting there from Barcelona: Best way to …

A Beach Day in Matosinhos, Portugal

I’m adding a video from my beach day in Matosinhos bellow as well as more photos from the day. The name of the Castle by the sea in the photo is Castelo do Queijo which translates toĀ Cheese CastleĀ šŸ™‚ It got the nameĀ from the giantĀ rock the castleĀ was built on that resembled a giant piece ofĀ cheese.Ā It is also known as Forte de SĆ£o Francisco Xavier. It was designed by Miguel l’Ecole and completed in 1661. Due to the weather conditions, there weren’t many people at the beach in this particular area at the time. A Spanish couple was right behind me, and the gentleman asked me to take his photo at the beach by these interesting rocks, while his wife waited up for him on the road with an umbrella. As I approached the Castle, it got a little busier. There were some tourists there, a guided tour, a young group of people at the beach, as well as a few couples exploring the rocks and the beach area bellow. The weather conditions weren’t ideal for the …

Piazza Venezia, Roman Forum & the Colosseum

I loved this area so much because everything is in one place so you can really see a lot very quickly. We used a bus to get to Piazza Venezia and started from there, walked along the Roman Forum and finally walked over to the Colosseum. You can see all these sights during one afternoon, but I suggest you spend an entire day exploring this area. Start your day with a breakfast, and then head over here with the metro or a bus and enjoy some sightseeing, take some photos, have lunch nearby and explore some more. We did not have time to explore the surrounding areas here because of our tight schedule.
