Magic of Mykonos

I should probably start by saying that no other location so far cast a spell on me quite like Mykonos. But let’s start at the beginning of this journey. Mykonos was not my first destination choice for this holiday. It was actually third on my list. How it all started I purchased a ticket way back in March for a different Greek island – Crete, but throughout the summer, I’ve been told that even though Crete was great for beaches, there was not much else to do there. Then Santorini came to mind, but after some research I realized that 1 week trip would be pretty expensive & I was interested in cutting my travel costs in half. Mykonos was that perfect combination of everything I was looking for & accommodation was way cheaper than Santorini. The dates were set in place, ticket purchased, apartment booked & so the countdown began. I was travelling with a girlfriend from London. She picked the dates, I picked the location. She was flying in to Athens first for …

Day 1 – Night 1 w/ Miss Anna R.

Hey guys, I’m still here! 🙂 I got sick recently & just couldn’t focus to write anything, but I’m all good now. Actually the reason why I got sick was because 1. I didn’t have my daily fruit & veggie smoothies at the Airbnb apt by the sea & 2. We did a lot in a very short amount of time as there was no time to waste….& now I’m about to let you know all the shenanigans we got up to. I went over to pick up Annie from the Larnaca  International Airport. I haven’t seen her in 4 years & we’ve known each other for a decade now. The airport pick up was a surprise 🙂 I actually got emotional when I saw her, crazy! Had a few tears of joy stream down my face, I couldn’t help it. We went over to our Airbnb apt first to drop off our luggage & then we checked out the beach below our apt. Little beach below the apt My Airbnb Room above 🙂 We went out for a coffee …

Wellbeing Wednesdays

Hey guys! I hope you are having a great week in your part of the world. If you missed the previous 2 Wellbeing Wednesdays posts you can find them below:   Let’s get right to it! It’s getting hotter over here on the island. Highs are now around 34-38+ C (93-100+ F) & the humidity has most definitely risen too. I know because, I am just finding out how much sweat my face can actually produce. I am pretty sure, this is healthy.  So far, I’m loving the weather. ☀ ☀ ☀ Every day is super sunny & I am pretty sure this powerful sun could make the most miserable person smile! 🙂 –> 10 Healing Benefits of the Sun Workout Hours: Probably around 5+ hours of mostly cardio this week. Because of the workout increase which is burning more calories, I’ve been eating more too. I have just realized that I’ve been eating mostly vegan food this summer, probably about 95% of the time. Which is pretty awesome! I think more than 50% of the food I’ve been eating …

Wellbeing Wednesdays

If you missed last week’s Wellbeing Wednesdays have a look  so you know what’s going on. This week I’m not gonna talk about the weather much, besides I’m not in London anymore. Everyday is sunny here! ☀ Highs for the past couple of days were 30-31C (86-88F) in Limassol, which for this time of the year is pretty amazing! 🙂 The nights are fresh. Beach Visits: 1 That’s a bit of a bummer, but I’m not located close to the beach at all. The good news is Swimming Season ends around Halloween time here and the 2 following weeks of November are tanning weeks, so you see there’s plenty of Summer ahead! 🙂 Funny thing happened when I did indeed visit the beach on that 1 day. I had this entire plan to swim and snorkel as much as possible but what actually happened was rather tragic almost. The double fried crispy chips sprinkled with oregano and Himalayan sea salt (pictured below) were my treat for the week, so I really wanted to get some …

Wellbeing Wednesdays

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic week wherever you are in the World! I would love to hear where you are and what the weather is like in your current location so please feel free to post your replies below in the comment section. I am currently in Limassol, Cyprus which also happens to be my favorite city on the island! I will go into why in another upcoming blog post. Below is what the weather looked like right here at 2pm. August is the hottest month on the island and for this reason, it’s very common for locals to take an entire month of August off for vacation. We were promised a mild summer this year, and I hope I’m not speaking too soon on the matter, but so far so great! We had 2 heatwaves here so far, one in June and one yesterday that started early on Monday. The highs for the past 2 days were about 38-39C here in Limassol which is definitely a lot, but it didn’t feel crazy hot …

Secrets to Soft Summer Hair

When it comes to Beauty, I am a minimalist, especially during the Summer Season. To date, I haven’t visited or lived in a country (city or state) that did not have a hot summer. Although throughout the years the humidity levels have varied from 2% low to 96% high depending on my location, my beauty routine has always remained the same, with the exception of the London era when I worked in Luxury Retail and I of course had to look super polished and put together at all times. During the hot summer months, a little bit of light foundation base and mascara is all I will wear out during the daytime. For evenings when I go out, I just add a strong lipstick, black eyeliner and sometimes a little blush too. Now back to the original topic of this post – How to get Super Soft Summer Hair I am my own hairdresser and have been for the past 20 years. This means that I’m responsible for every cut, style and color so I know exactly what works and doesn’t …
